Youth Development Officer
Term of Office - 1 year
Duties & Responsibilities
· To co-ordinate the organisation and management of the regional junior squads as part of the National Talent Development Programme.
· To provide advice and guidance to regional junior squad managers
· To promote, co-ordinate and support a programme of junior development in schools and clubs across the region working with the EVA and Area Associations.
· To agree to abide by the EVA Duty of Care Policy relating to Child Protection issues acting as the region’s reference point on Child Protection issues.
· To liaise with the EVA Youth Development Commission.
Hours, frequency and dates required
· Attendance at the AGM and any General Meetings.
· Attendance at EVF Executive Committee meetings.
· Approximately 1-2 hour per week to complete essential administration tasks.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities
Required
· Experience of working in an administrative capacity within a sport at local, regional and/or national level.
· Up to date knowledge and understanding of Child Protection issues.
· A basic understanding of the LTAD (Long term Athlete Development) model
· Experience of working with young people.
· Basic IT skills necessary for effective and efficient communication with others.
· Good man-management skills to be able to get the best out of others.
· Ability to set and meet deadlines.
Desirable
· Experience as a volleyball player, coach and/or referee.
· A sense of humour.
· Ability to listen and act in an unbiased and impartial manner
· Ability to accept positive comment and constructive criticism.
